Big Beauty Haul

Now, usually I don’t buy too much makeup. I don’t wear it too often, not on a daily basis anyway (sure, I don’t be leaving the house most days so why would I put it on?!). However, I decided yesterday to pop into Superdrug ‘for a browse’ and came out much, much poorer! Seriously, this is why I’ll never pick up a basket in Superdrug or Boots ever again! Way too tempting to throw things in. Though I am going to justify this with the fact that I paid for this mostly with money I got from Christmas that I hadn’t spent yet (the joys of being stuck in bed for over 2 weeks). And I’m going to put myself on a beauty spending ban for February and possibly even March as I NEED to start getting through things. Anyway, onwards to pictures!

Now, the reason I wanted to buy most of these things is thanks to reading beauty blogs. Beauty blogs are DANGEROUS! They enable you so much. I’ve decided to link the blog posts that inspired my purchases.

L’Oreal Miss Manga Mascara- I’ve seen this on blogs a lot recently and I was underwhelmed, until I saw this Beaut.ie post and just had to have it!

Bourjois Violine Hypnotique Nail Polish- It seems like I just can’t get away from this polish! It keeps popping up all over social media, most of it from Sue from CherrySue, who along with this post from Lovely Girlie Bits, definitely inspired this purchase.

L’Oreal Collection Privée Les Nudes Lipstick in Julianne’s Nude- These aren’t new, in fact the post that inspired this purchase was published back in September, but I couldn’t get this shade out of my head! Sinead over at Viva Adonis showed off several of these lipsticks but the Julianne stuck out in my head. It’s been there for a while, which is something as I don’t wear lipstick that often!

Maybelline Fit Me Anti Shine Stick Foundation- It was mainly due to Siobhan at Letzmakeup’s video about the foundation that I wanted to buy this but then I also remembered Karen at Lovely Girlie Bits (again!) post on the foundation and decided to chuck it in the basket.

As for the rest, I never need any enabling to buy nail varnish, I’ve been wanting to try out Aussie again for ages and it was 3 for £10, I needed hair spray as I have done and want to try out new hair styles, and I needed a new face powder as I left mine back in Ireland and the NYC mascara came free with 2 NYC purchases! Hopefully I will have some nail swatches up soon in the next few days, that’s my plan anyway. What have you bought recently? Tried any of these products? What did you think?

(PS sorry the photos aren’t the greatest. The new house I’m in has lousy natural light. I really need to find a way to remedy this!)

  1. Ah-may-zing haul!! I also fell for the charms of Julianne's Nude, treated myself to it at Christmas, it's gorgeous, a real go-to shade! Do let us know how you get on with the Miss Manga, I want to try it but not 100% sold on it yet. Polish looks fab, especially the Bourjois!

    1. Thanks! Yes, that Julianne's Nude just kept calling to me. I thought it might match my lips fairly well, but it comes out a bit pink. Though subtle enough for me to like it (I think my 'your lips but better' lip product is a Revlon Just Bitten Stick in Honey). I def think Miss Manga is a one coater, I think if it's two then it sticks and goes clumpy and spidery. And the Bourjois one is lovely!

  3. Yes, it's so so pretty! And I love their brushes as well, makes application a dream. I getting back into nail polish again after an uninspiring 3 months, which is fun as I had forgotten how much I loved it!
