Day Five- Something from high angle
The weather is showing now signs of getting better, meaning I’m limited to photos from my house right now. And I’m getting cabin fever. There was nothing interesting to take a high angled shot of, so I ended up with this.
Me, with my hair looking darker than it is, with chopsticks gifted to me from my Aunt (same one from yesterday’s photo actually). Looking forward to tomorrow’s photo a lot more than today’s.
Day Four- Something Green
So I was going to go outside and take a picture of something green, but I thought it was a bit too obvious and also it was lashing rain here so it wasn’t really an option. I had to think about things that I love that are green and remembered this.
This is a crucifix given to me by my godmother for my First Holy Communion. She got it from her visit to Mexico. I’m not that hugely religious so I don’t wear it that much, but it one of the few pieces of jewellery I really treasure.
Day Three- Clouds
Slightly late with this one but seeing as I have yet to go to bed it’s still day 3 to me! There were plenty of clouds today but nothing really interesting or nice looking. This was the best I could get.
Vaguely reminds me of a bunny rabbit hopping away!
Day Two- What you wore today
I was lucky that I just about avoided having to wear a coat or jacket today. Unfortunately, with the weather being not so great I didn’t get to take a cool picture of me outside so this boring one of me inside will have to do.
Isn’t it just adorable?! And I can wear it the other way around if I want, all gold with ‘Hoot Hoot’ in the heart. It’s the cutest piece of jewellery I own.
It’s been a while since I did a challenge and seeing as I just got my new camera (a shiny Sony one that I’m in love with!), a photography challenge is just the thing! I spotted one on Pinterest and decided to give it a whirl.
Hopefully posting every day will give me back my motivation to post. I have so many ideas but just can’t seem to write anything!

For my sister’s birthday back in March, I made her a pig cake. So when my sports mad brother turned 13 on Friday and seeing as he’s on a golf kick at the moment, I decided to make him a golf cake! A It was my first time experimenting with sugar craft so go easy on me. It’s a golf ball, tee and flag in the rough.
For the actual cake mix, I made a simple Madeira batter that I used to make these cupcakes for my sister last year, divided the batter into two cake pans.
For the buttercream icing, I used the same recipe in the link above. To make it chocolate flavoured, I mixed one dessertspoon of cocoa powder with a teaspoon or so of hot water to make a very thick paste , added it to the icing and mixed until incorporated. I used a small about to sandwich the two cake layers together and used the rest to cover the entire cake. It doesn’t have to be perfect.
For the ‘dirt’ effect, I crumbled two Flakes in a bowl and the fixed it onto the cake.
For the golf ball, tee and flag, I bought some fondant icing sugar and made the paste and dyed some of it with food colouring. I used liquid colouring, though I think gel would work better. I don’t think I fully succeeded to get the right consistency so I would like to try it again. But it did the job! I carved in 13 into the flag (which is on a cocktail stick) and
Last thing was the grass. I melted some white chocolate, dyed it green and then dripped it onto grease-proof paper to make ‘blades’. With that, some I stuck into the cake and the rest I chopped into small pieces and sprinkled over the cake for shorter blades.
My brother seemed to like the cake. I’ve now got to put my thinking cap on for ideas for cakes, 18 year old, 21 year old and 9 year old! So plenty more cakes for September.
